All you can eat social media

I’m watching Sports Center the other night and nearly fell out of my chair.

No, it wasn’t because I spilled the bean dip.

I saw this commercial and was absolutely floored.

The Golden Corral is promoting their social media platforms in their television commercials!

Notice how obvious – yet unobtrusive – the social logos are. They do not compromise the creative flow of the commercial. Nor do they interfere with the essential message of the campaign. All they do is draw attention to the fact that Golden Corral has social platforms. Simple and clean.

While I do not know if there is a direct cause and effect between this ad and their fan base –  they have over 29,000 people who like the page – you can be sure it isn’t hurting their growth.

If an all-you-can-eat buffet style restaurant can take this simple step and add the Facebook and twitter logos to the end of their ad – why can’t you?

Take a moment and examine your marketing campaigns. I’m sure you will find places where you can alert people to your social presence.

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I need to get some ribs!
